Luis Montero claims Dominican Rep. LNB Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced Luis Montero (203-SF-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for Titanes del Distrito Nacional and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6 (Second Stage).
The 32-year old had a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Marineros (#5, 9-11) 85-80. Titanes is placed at 3rd position in Dominican Rep. LNB. Titanes is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 9th lost game this season out of 20 games. In the team's last game Montero had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Titanes, through which he has constantly improved. Luis Montero averages this season 18.0ppg, 9.4rpg and 5.0apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American center Henry Sims (208-C-1990) of league's best team Metros de Santiago. Sims impressed basketball fans with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Metros to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Caneros (#6, 8-11) 110-69. Of course Metros still keep the league's top spot. His team has currently 12-8 record. Sims is one of the most experienced players at Metros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Sterling Manley (213-F/C-1998) of Leones de Santo Domingo (#4). Manley scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Manley's great performance the Leones lost 94-104 to #2 ranked Indios. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Leones needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 10 victories and 9 lost games. The season just started for Manley as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
